Description: An original WW2 British map of "BIR EL ADEM" AERODROME, a former Italian airbase just 10 miles South of TOBRUK which was captured during OPERATION COMPASS. It was produced in May 1941 during the WESTERN DESERT CAMPAIGN with revisions from earlier aerial reconnaissance photographs. A faint ink stamp in the lower margin shows that it was officially retained at 'GHQ Middle East'. Measures 92cm x 56cm. A rare sheet in very good overall condition. Will be shipped rolled in a tube.
