WW2 1943 US Army M1910 SWANSON Canteen & Canvas Cover Set

Description: WW2 1943 US Army M1910 SWANSON Canteen & Canvas Cover Set Canteen has Bakelite canteen cap with (second pattern) recessed top; the cork inside the black plastic lid is intact and in very good condition, however it's no longer sealed to the lid & is loose; canteen has horizontal seam & is marked on bottom:U.S. SWANSON (Swanson Machine of Jamestown NY) 1943 Overall condition is good used with amount of wear expected for an item of its age & usage. Cover is M-1910 model with side seam, lift-the-dot fasteners & stitched webbing designed to hold a double-belt hook, which is missing. Cover is lined with gray felt material for insulation & could be kept wet during hot weather in order to keep the water in the canteen cool. Cover is in well-used condition, including a cut on left front & a puncture on back under binding (see pix), & any markings that would have been stamped on front, back & bottom are completely faded. There is fading of canvas as well as stains, expected for age & usage. The side seam & color would appear to place manufacture of cover between 1942 & 1944.
