^ WATERMAN 0512-1/2 VS " BABY," SAFETY PEN, GF OVLY, ED FILLED PEN, c.1912

Description: This listing is for a seldom seen WATERMAN gold filled overlay safety pen on black hard rubber, the early "BABY," #0512-1/2 VS estimated to be from the about 1912. The pen is just 3-1/2" long and it is not a ring pen as I've seen on other examples. It is eye-dropper filled pen and has a replacement WARRANTED 14K 2 nib likely a medium width with good iridium and significant flexibility. I think it is probably a pretty good replacement for the original. The nib advance works quite smooth, twisting the base of the pen. The gold filled overlay is plain aside from a two line monogram on the barrel, a lady's full name on the first line and ATHENS, N.J. on the second line....all in a very nice script. The only Waterman mark is the radial imprint on the hard rubber barrel below the overlay. It is in 5 lines, most of which is legible, but there are some wear spots. The "BABY" imprint is on the base of the barrel with the model designation. Of course the pen has a monogram and replacement nib, but the only actual flaw I see is about 3, pinhead dents, 2 near the breather on the cap, visible in photo 2.
