Description: VINTAGE BETTER HOMES & GARDENS HANDYMAN’S BOOK ~ 1951 ~ 1ST EDITION ~ DUST JACKETYou are looking at a first edition of the Better Homes & Gardens Handyman’s Book, printed in 1951. This covers a wide range of subjects from hand and power tools to home maintenance and repairs. This would be of particular interest to someone owning an older home as it shares detailed information on, for example, patching plaster (not drywall), replacing sash cords on old style double hung windows, hot water and steam heating systems and some basic plumbing and electrical repairs. This came from my grandparents’ house. This is a 5-ring binder with the original dust jacket. There are some rust spots on the rings. The dustjacket has some fraying and tears. There is some yellowing of the pages and some slight wear on the index tabs. Please look at the pictures to see the condition. Also included with this is an article form the May, 1956 issue of Better Homes & Gardens titled “Workshop in the Walls” which describes a workshop setup that can be stored behind closed doors when not in use.If you would like more detailed photos or require more specific information, please email me with your request/questions. This comes from a smoke-free home. Thanks for looking!!
