Vintage 1943 Bell & Howell Blower Motor Drive Lamp House from US Navy Film Scoring Viewer H.T.M.Includes the belt and brass dataplate from the carrying case (discarded).This part was removed from a 1943 Mark 1 Film Scoring Viewer used by the US Navy during World War II. Before removal we ran this unit and found that this part is fully operational. We parted out the viewer due to missing large parts (mirrors, etc).Included is the cast iron housing with motor drive with squirrel cage fan blower, output gears, oil fitting, lamp house, lamp, initial lens assembly, and the wiring loom.The motor is variable speed and reversible.The 115 volt 500 watt projection lamp is a Westinghouse Mazda with position orienting ring to burn base up. The lamp is not guaranteed to survive vibration during shipment due to it having a vintage used filament (tungsten evaporates from the filament during use, so the filament gets weaker over time), but it is working at this time in the in the warehouse. I don't know how many hours are on this lamp, but it is likely original to the part.The lamp is held in by an unusual snap door with integrated contact system as shown.The parabolic reflector that is mounted on the other side of the lamp from the lens is removable by unscrewing the knurled bakelite knob shown.The blower outlet measures roughly 2" square and draws air down from vents at the top of the lamp, past the lamp, and out.Physical condition is very good with few signs of wear and handling. It will need oiling and possibly maintenance at some point from sitting idle for many years.
