Normally, when you think of classical guitar music, you're thinking of acoustic guitar with nylon strings playing complex baroque melodies with intricate harmonies. Malmsteen did that on a Fender Strat with distortion sped up to dastardly speeds. In 1986, he released his third album aptly titled Trilogy. The record charted across the world, going to #44 on the Billboard Charts. It is still regarded as one of his best albums.
