Reynolds in 1987: Prince Albert, Carter Hall, Apple, and Royal Comfort. The sale was completed on April 2, 1987. Prior to this, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. may be seen printed on side of tins.Circa 1975 - UPC codes became ubiquitous from 1975, forward.1960 - A person similar to King Edward VII is pictured on one side of these tins in a "Prince Albert" style coat. In 1960 Prince Albert lithographs have the King on both front and back of the tin.1938-1948 - The notched lid tin was first introduced in 1938 and was produced until 1948 except for a three-year period during World War II (1943-1945) when cardboard tins were used.1913 - 1938 - This version of the Prince Albert pocket tin includes the "King" on just the front of the tin (pre-1960) and the use of a five-part hinge (in 1938 the hinge style switched to the three-part hinge used on newer tins).Based on research above, the tin appears to be manufactured between 1913 - 1938.
