Vintage Primitive Carved Wood Folk Art ROOSTER Hand Made

Description: Here for your consideration is a carved, lovingly made Shenandoah Valley Folk Art ROOSTER. The net weight is 2 lbs. It is 11 1/2 " H 16" L and 6" D. The wood could be pine but I am not certain. It does not weigh as much as a hardwood object but it is still stable when placed on a flat surface. Beside the nice outline and proportions there are some unique touches to the design. I love the folksy but contemporary styling of the body, carving of the tail, polka dots and the eyes. I have seen chicken carved by the same hand but have not owned one. I grew up in a small town and hearing a rooster greeting the new day was a fact of life. While in NYC where I live one can keep any number of live chickens it is illegal to keep a live rooster (go figure). The shipping is by FDX with tracking, calculated to the buyer's exact zip code.
