Description: This porcelain ginger jar measures approximately 6 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" wide. It depicts two large cranes, pink and blue Chrysanthemums, distant mountains, cranes in flight, and red, gold and brown foliage. It has both an inner and outer lid. The inner lid is decorated with gold designs. The base of the jar is marked with two characters that I could not identify. A knowledgeable ebayer wrote and let me know that the mark is a generic Kutani mark meaning Kutani Kiln, and that this was made in the Showa era, 1926-1989. The jar is in good condition. There is a chip to the rim of the outer lid, as seen in the last photo. It is mostly to the inside of the rim, and only slightly visible from the outside. There are some small areas of roughness along the rim of the lid, also. There are no other chips or cracks. There is some surface wear to the unglazed areas of the jar, on the rim and foot. Please see my pictures, and thanks for looking! Fragile items will be packaged securely and with care.
