Description: Vintage mid-century "cactus cloth" apron featuring scenes from California, including San Francisco's Cliff House and Seal Rocks, Chinatown and Cable Cars, Monterey, Carmel, Crescent City, Eureka, Lake Tahoe, and in southern California Los Angeles' Olvera Street, Knott's Berry Farm, Hoover Dam, Sequoia National Park, the Tijuana Bullfights, and more. No Disneyland, which means this was made pre-1955. Back in the day, families vacationed by car as air travel was limited to major major cities and too expensive. So on major roadways, every town, diner, gas station and stopover had little souvenir shops with local treats. They all carried state map towels, aprons, tablecloths. Nowadays it's T-shirts and coffee mugs. This apron sat in a drawer for probably 74 years. It has a few spots that will most likely wash right out. No holes or cooking stains. The tag looks chewed up by silverfish. It contains washing instructions (pre-cold water detergents). And says 'Santa Fe News Service'. This apron measures 15" across the waist (front). The apron ties are another 18" long.
