Description: Please email with any questions. Estate-purchased painting by Paul A Bloser. Canvas on board image measures 12" by 16", original frame measures 16" by 20", artist's label on the back, taped to the brown paper dust cover which should be replaced as it is torn and taped. The artist's label shows an address in West Collingswood, New Jersey. Bloser is thought to have been born in Bloserville, PA. He studied art at the Industrial Arts School and Chase School in Philadelphia. Bloser created several murals for public buildings in Carlisle, PA in the 1930's, moving to Collingswood, NJ in 1939.Painting is in good condition and might benefit from a light cleaning. The frame is wood with molded gesso that has been antiqued in white and gold. I saw several examples of other framed paintings of Bloser and this seems to have been a favored frame of the artist. It has some crazing on the surface but I think the crazing looks intentional and is likely original. A very pleasant and serene Impressionistic painting.
