Description: For sale is a rearing horse figure by Van Briggle Pottery in Ming Blue or turquoise. Standing 8 1/4" high, this finely detailed horse is shown standing on its hind legs with forelegs off the ground. An art deco style flourish creates the base which meets the horse at the hind legs. The figure is finished in a soft turquoise blue. This piece is in very good condition with no damage or wear; there are two minor production flaws. A glaze crease can be seen on the front half left ankle (photograph 14) and there is a small 1/4" fissure on the right side hip where the leg meets the body (photograph 15). Marked on the bottom with double A logo and text for Van Briggle, Colorado Springs, CO. Inscribed by artist, CC II, and with id, V7 (photograph 7). Made in the USA. Wood display stand in photograph 2 is not included: for illustration only. Approximate Measurements 3 1/4" wide7 3/4" deep, hoof to tail 8 3/8" high.
