These will be marked “Uberti,” and may also (but not necessarily) be marked by the U.S. importer, such as “Cimarron,” “Taylors & Co.”, “Navy Arms”, or “EMF”, etc. Please note that Uberti has made many SAA’s with specific model names in addition to their standard “SAA” revolvers. Our grips have been properly machined and fitted to fit any and all of these. Examples: Cimarron / Uberti Cattleman, Cattleman II, Cimarron Model P, Evil Roy, El Patron, Hombre*, American Arms Regulator*, Cimarron New Sheriff, Uberti US 7th Cavalry, U.S.V. Artillery, and Cavalry Scout, Pistoleer, Holy Smoker, Wyatt Earp Buntline, Rooster Shooter, Chisholm, Cody, Desperado, Frisco, Old West, Stallion, Buntline, Horseman, SASS Pro, CMS Pro, E.M.F. What these WILL NOT FIT: Please note that these grips are made to fit ONLY the Uberti Model 1873 style Single Action revolvers, with the typical “plowhandle” shaped gripframe, and will NOT fit any other make of revolver (such as Pietta, Armi San Marco, Colt, Ruger, etc.). These grips will also NOT fit the Bisley, the Birdshead, the Thunderer or the Lightning style revolvers, from ANY maker, which use a completely different shaped gripframe. In addition, these WILL NOT FIT any of the 1860 Army sized gripframes, which are around 3-1/2” tall. To make sure you are ordering the correct grip, please check your grip frame measurement prior to ordering. Your grips or grip frame should measure somewhere between 3-1/16 – 3-1/8” tall, depending on how you hold your ruler, tape, or caliper. The important thing is to make sure they are NOT around 3-1/2” tall. Taylor & Co.’s Gunfighter, and the Uberti Callahan, for example, have the taller 1860 Army (3-1/2” tall) grip frame. If you have one of these, our Uberti 1860 Army Conversion & Metallic Cartridge revolver grips will work with these. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural aging process. Through this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and below the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating.
