Description: We are offering five (5) of these hearty and in-demand Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans) Plants - also called, "Hummingbird Vine," for a spectacular care-free summer show of flowers and birds. Trumpet vine is a native, deciduous, vine that grows in most soil types without supplemental water or fertilizer, once it has established. The bright orange-red flowers appear in early summer and the display lasts until fall. They are a favorite of hummingbirds and other pollinators. A native, continuous, nectar-source for hummingbirds, and shelter/nesting resource for song birds. We’ve had Cardinals, Sparrows, Robins, Catbirds, and Wrens nesting in ours. They like to grow up trees and also can form their own trunk-bases. It can grow high up into the tree tops, (we use it to cover a snag) or can be trained on a trellis or fence with some pruning. These are established plants- not seeds or cuttings. You will receive 5 bare-root plants, 8 - 12 inches in height, already dipped in rooting hormone to aid quick growth and reduce transplant shock. The plants will be trimmed of most of their leaves and packaged, bare-root, to save you on shipping costs, and them from transpiration loss. Please water regularly for the first few months and shade from strong sun until new growth appears. Shade your new plants from direct sunlight until they have been growing for a few weeks.
