Description: The Roches: Keep On DoingLP1982MINT Condition - LP and Cover These ladies are all family. Two sisters began as a duo, then a third sister joined in the mid-70s to form a trio. I first heard them in the 80s on NPR - a show called Soundstage. They were easily the most clever songstresses I had ever heard. Songs with melodies and harmonies with biting verbal punches (more comedic than acerbic), they always brought a smile, if not outright laughter, when listening. They were/are a welcome change to almost any music you've heard out there. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily guarantee success. They've continued to stay under the radar, despite an appearance on Saturday Night Live in 1979 and a Johnny Carson appearance in 1985. Haven't heard of them you say? Well, this particular album was produced by none other than Robert Fripp. He also played guitar for them on this album and produced their debut album, "The Roches." Moreover, back when they were a duo, they got their start with none other than Paul Simon as his backup singers on the album, "There Goes Rhymin Simon." One of their songs was covered by Phoebe Snow ("The Married Men"). No one has a right to expect real justice in the very competitive music market, but it's a true crime that these ladies were not more successful. As with most of the LPs from Beezar Audio, this one was played once for a needle drop cassette recording, then stored vertically in air-conditioned space ever since. ** Beezar Audio exclusively used Technics SL-10 and SL-7 linear tracking turntables with Shure V-15 P-mount cartridges and styli when playing LPs. **
