Description: This is a classic cookbook, "The American Woman's Cookbook". It was published by Consolidated Publishing Publishers for the Culinary Institute of America. It was published in 1941 in Chicago, IL. It is a hardcover book measuring 5.5x8.25". 757 pages plus index for a total of 816 pages. The pages show tanning due to age and there are age/dirty spots inside. There are some color pictures of food inside. The green cover has quite a bit of edge and corner wear with the boards visible. The woven cover is split at the spine (pictured). The book is loose and some of the pages in the back are affected by this split (pictured). The book is intact, but will probably tear apart at some time in the future. There are tabs on the side for the different recipes inside and you can see some pencil marks on the outside of the book. The edges of the pages on the outside of the book are dirty. It has a light smoky smell, possibly cigar. It is not overpowering. No writing inside, no ripped or missing pages. I found a few dog-eared corners. I have my Grandma's copy of this cookbook and it is in this condition but has served me well over the years.
