Description: This is a stunning antique watercolor painting of what appears to be an African American woman hanging laundry. The use of muted blues and greens gives this a subtle appeal and sets off beautifully against the original gold frame. On the back of the painting is a page from the Saturday Evening Post, Detroit, MI, July 1, 1916. The back is held in by original iron nails, the shape of which date to the late 1800s. For it's age, there is minimal damage to the frame, and the top of the painting has some areas that appear a little wavy (not stained), due to maybe humidity at some point. There doesn't appear to be any rips or tears. I also do not see a signature, but this may be hidden underneath the frame. It measures 12.75" x 10.25" framed. Pictures don't do this justice. The longer I have it, the more I love it!
