Author Biography Stephen Z Fadem, MD, FASNStephen Z. Fadem has garnered over 40 years of professional experience as a practicing nephrologist, and in the fields of research, technology, consulting, and education. He is a frontrunner of cutting-edge research, and specializes in kidney disease management with a special interest in delaying the progression of chronic disease. He has worked on clinical research projects relating to anemia in chronic kidney disease, vitamin D management, and polycystic kidney disease. Previously serving on many Technical Expert Panels, he has extensive experience as a consultant to the computer industry in the development of CKD management software and developed the Touchcalc® line of medical calculators. He originated the website nephron.com which was the first to feature guidance on education for patients with chronic kidney disease – Fadems Kidney Guide. In addition to caring for patients at Kidney Associates he also serves as a Clinical Professor ofMedicine at Baylor College of medicine. He lectures frequently on dialysis management, COVID-19, disaster preparation, patient safety, preventive nephrology, vascular calcification, anemia, patient education, CKD education, information systems, computer technology, and computer security. Dr. Fadem graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine with his Medical Degree.
