Description: Hi everyone! For sale is a Shaolin Soccer DVD. This is the 2002 Korean 2-Disc Special Edition from Spectrum, and is Region 3 (although I managed to get it to work on R1 and R2 players, so it might be Region Free?). The DVD is used but in pretty good condition, aside from the bottom of the slipcover is peeling off, some scratches and smudges on the DVDs, and wear on booklet edges (see pictures).I bought this during my days living overseas in 2004, importing it from an online store in the States (DeepdiscountDVD, I think?). Back then, it was my favourite movie, so I finally decided to get my own copy to share with everyone there! . . . But turns out, everyone there had already seen it by then, so I ended up just watching it once or twice by myself before kicking it into a storage box, until finally deciding to pass it over to eBay.But before that, I re-watched the DVDs to test everything, and here's some Please notes:1. One DVD player I tested this on played the DVD fine, while the other one played it "zoomed-in" (basically, the picture is cropped by about 1/3rd.) I've added two pictures near the end of the gallery to show you the zoom-in issue: the first one shows how the start of the movie should look like if you have a compatible DVD player, while the second one shows what it looks like on a not-as-compatible player. Anyone know why it does this?2. The movie defaults to Korean subtitles. So if you want English subtitles instead, you'll have to change it back each time. Although that might not make it much better since the English translation is pretty rough at times. For example: "You make us to get our kung fu back."3. The movie has a few half-second micro-skips. At first I thought this was because of a scratch on the disc, but then I realized these skips are actually caused by the Soccer Ball special feature. Basically, there's this interactive mode you can turn on where a soccer ball will show up during the movie, and if you click it, it'll show you a special clip. BUT if you don't click it, it'll go away and when it does, there's a micro-skip . . whether you have the feature on or not. I guess it was just poorly programmed, because my Moulin Rouge DVD has the same feature with a clickable fairy instead and there's no skipping at all. 4. Don't expect too much from the 2nd disc. A big reason why I bought the Korean version was because of the "Special Edition" disc two, but funny thing is, I don't think I actually ever watched it till now! Turns out, besides one Behind the Scenes feature, almost everything else was on the first disc or very cheaply made (there's this Kung Fu Fighting highlight video that's completely out of sync with the music using blindfoldedly-chosen random clips. You could probably get someone to make something better in 10 minutes on Fiverr.) You know, I don't know why they didn't just cram this all on one disc, but then I probably wouldn't have bought it . . . Ohhh. 5. The last thing is, while the sound seems fine (on my dinky $2 PC speakers mind you), the video does have some interlacing especially around the beginning, so not much of a Special Edition upgrade after all. But if you can live with all of that, then this DVD can live with all of you, even with its imperfect imperfections~♫ Yeah, I probably should take that How to Sell on eBay training module again.
