Description: Carefully housed for decades in our family- The Complete Works of Shakespeare with notes, Imperial Edition, edited by Charles Knight. Two large, brown leather bound volumes with gold edge pages, illustrations on steel. Volume 1 has 30 illustrations and 4 portraits. pages have yellowed some, edges have some marks. This volume was refurbished 10-15 years ago. Volume 2 has more wear on back side, also aged pages and edges, 21 illustrations and 2 portraits. No tears. Volumes are approximately 12" w x 15" L x 3 1/2" D and weigh approximately 15 lbs each. Age was written in pencil on cover page, 1873-1876.
