The Small One, STER-3820 Here's a rare STILL FACTORY SEALED copy of the LP vinyl record featuring storybook and record for the 1978 Christmas-themed featurette, The Small One, released to theaters that year with Pinocchio. Based on the Charles Tazewell book, the film was overseen by Don Bluth and Richard Rich before they left to make The Secret of NIMH and American Tale on their own. Both of them wrote the songs heard on the soundtrack as well. The cover shows the main characters from the film. The back cover features animation cel illustrations from the film. The record features actual soundtrack clips with the voices of Sean Marshall (Pete from Pete's Dragon), Olan Soule, Joe HIggins, William Woodson, Hal Smith of Andy Griffith Show fame, and Gordon Jump. The score was composed and conducted by Robert F. Brunner. This popular series always promoted "a magnificent full-color illustrated book and long-playing record," with 12 giant book pages inside the gatefold covers. The record is in stereo! Because these were created for kids to pop open and enjoy, they're very rare to find still sealed decades later! Condition: The LP is still factory sealed, never opened and should play in mint condition. The cover has a corner where the shrinkwrap popped open at the top so the corner has a little wear; otherwise fine.
