Description: 1986 Schwinn Paramount Track Bicycle, Waterford Built, with Columbus PS. PS tubing is the extra stout style from Italy. Serial # "WB 86201" 32 3/4 stand over height.The fork blades and chain stays are the extra large 24.0mm diameter. That PS tubing is meant to be ridden hard, and can take the turns with ease. Showing typical scratches and also showing one minor dent on the head tube. The boo-boo will not effect the ride!! Maybe you have some Pearly White nail polish to cover over the previous, wonky touchup paints. Still, every bit a professional Schwinn Paramount streetfighter Pista Track Fixie, and there may be no other like it parked at the Starbucks Coffee Joint. (And mixing caffeine with this ride makes me scared just thinking about it!)Bike is built up with Vittoria Corsa G2.0 Competition 700 x 23C Skinwall Black Tan Para Clincher Tires mounted on brand new Milwaukee (buttery smooth) sealed bearing 120mm flip flop hubs laced with gold Sapim Leader spokes with anodized blue alloy nipples laced to blue deep v rims with gold machined sidewalls. 22T fixed cog and 22t Sturmey Archer freewheel for a 55 inch gear. 1/8 gold/black track chain. Miche pedals that spin smooth but toe clips are up to you. Campagnolo Record side pull front caliper, Velo Orange brake lever. Nitto Jaguar100mm Pista stem with generic chrome pista 39mm handlebars. Campagnolo seat post with very clean Regal white saddle w/copper rivets and seat rails.58cm is measured to the top of the lug. Chrome showing nicely. Includes the original Stronglight needle bearing Paramount labeled headset! Rear spacing is120mm. Top tube is 56.5cm, center to center. The fork is threaded 1"x24tpi English threads and fits a quill stem of 22.2mm. The crown race seat is 26.4mm. Fork is drilled for a recessed bolt brake caliper. Bottom bracket is 1.370 x 24tpibut as its a real track frame, only shallow bearing cups will fit(road bike cups are too deep). Seat post is 27.2mm. The oversize chain-stays are NOT going to allow wide tires. Maximum size 700x23 in front and rear.So why sell this beauty? To be honest, it's just too high performance for me. This bike scares me! It handles like a hungry Ferrari, and it’s too squirrely for my 69 year old riding habits. I built this to work on my spin and my knees. I’ll be using my 1971 Paramount track bike instead.. it’s a bit more “sedate”!
