Description: Rogers 16” x 16” Silver Sparkle Floor Tom This auction is for a Rogers 16” x 16” Silver Sparkle Floor Tom, as pictured. It was manufactured in Cleveland in the mid to late 1960’s. Paper tag inside is intact with serial number and the word “Holiday” model is typed in with the typewriter. The edges are worn on tag. Exterior has darkened with age. The wrap itself is very nice with light scratches and the seam is tight. Heaviest scratch is by air vent. Flat gray interior inside. This was used without a bottom head and the bottom edge and ring have heavy scratches, dings, and abrasions. There is some minor separation of plies on bottom also. Otherwise, the interior has some scratches and the top edge has some light dings. 16 beaver tail lugs, 3 Swiv-o-Matic leg brackets, and knob tension muffler. One rim is original and the other is replaced with a chrome over brass Ludwig. 8 tension rods original and the others are replaced (5 of which look like newer Rogers). One head is vintage Rogers, with some worn spots and abrasions, but does have logo. Other one is clear import. Hardware has light to moderate pitting and scratches, with spots that are heavy, and one chip in chrome on a lug and small areas on legs. There is quite a bit of lost chrome along bottom inner edge of Rogers rim. Tacked on chrome badge. Mounting hardware on interior has light to heavy oxidation and rust, especially on muffler itself, washers, and nuts. There is also some rust on some recessed areas and some tension rod threads. Shell in round as heads spin freely. Despite all items noted, this is still a beautiful drum for age!
