His teleplay, based on his own short story, of DUEL, was filmed under the direction of Steven Spielberg as his first feature-length movie. While it was made for broadcast in the USA, it was released in cinemas around the world. This Gauntlet Press edition includes the original short story and the screenplay for DUEL, as well as both for THE DISTRIBUTOR, the latter of which has yet to be filmed. This was published as a limited, signed, hardcover edition of just 500 copies. This copy has been signed boldly by Richard Matheson, but has not been numbered, indicating that this is either an author’s proof copy or an overrun copy. The book is brand new and unread.
