Description: Fully Restored GRISWOLD #14 Cast Iron Skillet 718 Large Block Heat Ring Erie HTF This is a nice huge Griswold large block logo #14 skillet that weighs in at 10 pounds 6 ounces. The diameter across the top of the skillet is 15-3/8 inches excluding the ears. Logo and letters/numbers are crisp and clean. The pan has no movement on my gas grates, but on my quartz countertop I can force a small movement if I push very hard on the rim. I don't think it would bother me even on a glass stove because it's not a big movement and I'm pretty tolerant, but everyone is different. I realize that some people are really bothered by any movement at all. Only you can decide if the pan would be right for you. There are some areas on the cooking surface where standing rust at some point in its life began to compromise the finish in some areas. There's a little roughness/discoloration as a result of that rust. Please see all pictures of the cooking surface. In my opinion the pictures make the cooking surface look worse than it really is, but I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised. The discoloration and roughness is pretty superficial and with use should fill in. The helper handle has some roughness. I'm not really sure if it was cast that way or if rust was involved. I've seen a similar look on some of the other #14's, but not all of them have that look. Please see and enlarge all pictures, as they are part of the description of the pan. If you need additional pictures or have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I want you to be happy with your purchase. Sometimes I see listings where the seller says a pan is restored and it's still gunky and rusty and I'm left wondering what the seller actually did to the pan. I personally wouldn't even think of cooking a meal for my family in some of those pans. Honestly I think some people think “restored” means they’ve slapped some oil on it. Every pan I sell has been restored by removing the old seasoning/gunk via electrolysis then they are well seasoned with a minimum of three rounds of seasoning. I’m a perfectionist with a good work ethic and I always try my hardest to make every pan look as new as possible. If there is some discoloration left in a pan, it's because it's not coming off. As the whole pan darkens more with the seasoning that you add through use, the discolorations tend to blend in and make a pan look more even in color, but you will NOT be cooking on some stranger’s yucky gunky mess. This beautiful skillet is ready to display, use or gift as soon as you get it home. I think you'll enjoy this well made pan. If you live in the Cincinnati area you would be welcome to pick up the pan in person and save yourself the shipping charges. Otherwise, it will be very carefully packed and padded to protect it during shipment. Please note that if you choose "free local pickup", this means that you are agreeing to pick up the pan within 10 days of sale in Liberty Township Ohio. It does NOT mean that I'll be shipping the pan to you for free :) Thanks for reading!
