Description: This is a New, Open Box Condition (The Only New Old Stock Black Pair In the World) Pair of Barcus-Berry Audioplate Tweeters Speakers. They are a part of audiophile history that many have never heard of. These 'speakers' have no magnetic resonance, but work some other way, that even the maker says they don't exactly understand. The tweeter is a 1/4" thick piece of glass with a transducer attached to it. The 40+ year old flat black paint scuffs easily, but also easily rubs out with a cloth. They are a numbered set, #119 & #120, shown in the 5th pic, and the only factory made black color pair I have ever seen for sale. Never used, so not tested. The original box actually came apart in my hands, so you won't be getting it. I had to take the pictures outside in bright California Sunlight because the deep flat black just wouldn't easily photograph indoors. Read the last pic, which is an audiophile review of the (then) new type of tweeter from 1978. This was part of an audiophile's (who worked in an Orange County, California Sound System Store) dream sound system that he had all the components for, but never got around to actually assembling, and just moved the boxes from garage to garage over 40+ years.
