Description: This is a scarce original 1880s blue Nickel Plate Glass Co No.50 Banbury kerosene stand lamp with blue opalescent swirled font and blue swirled glass base!.....The underside of font has ribbed pattern.....8 1/2"tall to brass collar....17 1/8"with burner & chimney.....Shiny nice with only one shallow chip on very bottom surface of base & 4 small shallow flakes on edge of base (shown in last close up pic); no other damage. A sparkling clean lamp with no haze. Shiny nice brass Taplin Brown No.2 threaded collar....nickel plated burner is emb WHITE FLAME...WHITE FLAME LIGHT CO. GRAND RAPIDS on the side...Excellent working condition; it turns the nice wick up and down smoothly. Glass chimney is perfect with no chips or damage. This rare blue opalescent swirl Banbury pattern lamp is attributed to the Nickel Plate Glass Co, circa 1888.. This lamp was formerly in the the collection of Michael Carter of Hanover, Pa....a similar example of this lamp sold for well over $600 in 2018. ........
