Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a John C. Perry patent, dated August 24, 1897. This wire is called "Perry's Two Point Welded Pin Barb on Single Round Line" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier No. 83-B. This wire features a single round line wire. Barbs are two pointed made by welding a pin at its center to the line wire. Barbs are welded in alternating directions. Wire shows very light pitting. Sample is at least 18" in length. There are seven barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points. There are no broken, repaired, or missing barbing points.
