Description: Up for auction is an old railroad hat badge from the New York Central Railroad. The metal style cap badge is marked on the front side “New York Central, New York Central System", with the occupation of “Baggageman”. The badge measures 3 3/4" x 1 1/2” and is in very nice condition and has all of the original blue enamel intact. The Baggageman occupation was for the individual who worked as an attendant for collecting and tracking passengers' baggage in the baggage car on the road's passenger service.
