Description: Here we have a complete set of twelve dinner plates in the gorgeous Spode Copeland (England) black transferware pattern, University of Chicago 1931. Scalloped rim; 10.5" diameter. Eleven of the twelve are very fresh and clean pieces in minty condition with no signs of use or abuse. No scratches, chips, cracks, cloudiness, discoloration, stains, hard water stains, etc. We use the term Minty, not Mint, to distinguish between something that we know has been used even though it shows no signs of use (Minty) and something that we know is brand new and unused (Mint.) The twelfth plate in the set, "Swift Hall and Bond Chapel," displays as mint although on very close inspection, one can see two small clear, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze, the kind that can be seen when the piece is held up at just the right angle to a bright source of light, and a bit of clear, colorless, unstained crazing to the center motif and back. We have lots of beautiful transferware in our store, to which we add new inventory daily, and we're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost. If the eBay checkout fails to properly combine your orders, we will issue a refund for the difference between what you paid to ship items separately and the actual cost of the combined shipping, on the day that we ship your package. (We don't find out the actual cost of combined shipping until we purchase the shipping label.)
