Description: SKB LEFT HAND– 12GA HIGH GRADE STOCK & FOREND SET This is a new butt stock and forend for the SKB GC7, 585, 685 – 785 series. This pistol grip stock features a high gloss finish stock, a black plastic grip cap and Pachmyr Old English Pad. This stock has a left-hand cast, carved from Grade Five American Black Walnut with a high gloss polyurethane finish. There are no structural cracks in the wood. This is a factory stock that has not been mounted to a receiver. The stock may have some minor scratches or other small indentations from storage or shipping. The GC7 field stock dimension as cataloged by SKB in 2009 were : Length of pull 14 5/8” Drop at Comb 1 ½” Drop at Heel 2 3/16” PAD = Pachmayr – 0.6” Old English The cast of a stock is the distance measured right or left from the center line of the rib extending back over the stock. A left hand or “cast on” stock measures 0-3 mm at the top of the pad and 3-6 mm at the toe of the pad to the left of the center line. This stock will require a gunsmith to fit and glass bed the wood to the receiver, around the side plates and the trigger guard top prevent cracking. This is a high grade forend with deluxe checkering. It has a high gloss finish with a finger groove grip. This is a late production forend which utilizes a “Round Nut” and flat head machine screw to attach to the metal piece. The High Gloss polyurethane finish, on the forend, does not have crazing developing in the finish. There are no structural cracks in the wood. This is a factory forend that has not been mounted to the barrel. The forend may have some minor scratches or other small indentations from storage or shipping. This forend will require a gunsmith to fit and glass bed the wood to the forend metal piece. The gunsmith will need to ensure that the wood has adequate clearance in the barrel channel to prevent the forend from cracking.
