Description: AUSTRALIAN L1A2 BAYONET & NUMBER 5 MARK II SCABBARD. Made by LITHGOW after 1959 for the FN FAL (SLR) and the F1 machine carbine. This bayonet is in great surplus condition showing slight signs of wear and finish loss throughout consistent with its age. Blade has storage grease on it. There are no maker markings visible on this bayonet, which is normal, as in Australian production code numbers were no longer used after February 1959 meaning this bayonet was manufactured at Lithgow after that date.
