Description: For sale is a 45 RPM vinyl single by Kool & The Gangtitled "Get Down On It b/w Steppin' Out", originally released in 1981 by De-Lite Records. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve, then into a storage box for 45 RPM singles, that was kept under optimum conditions for both temperature and humidity until today. The original generic inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. In the dead wax, between the labels and end of the tracks, is etched "Sterling", "EDP" inside an oval and "BW", indicating that this record was mastered at Sterling Sound of New York City, N.Y. thenlaquered at Europadisk, also in New York City, before it was made at Bestway Product's pressing plant, located in Mountainside, New Jersey. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. The vinyl is visually graded as Near Mint Minus because of superficial sleeve marks, but with surfaces that are shiny and bright, in a like-new condition, without any scuffs, surface scratches, smudges or marks on the labels. I'm play grading this record as Near Mint Mint because of super low levels of surface noise, most evident in the dead wax of the run-in grooves and masked my the music on Side One. Side Two has a little more low levels of surface noise at the beginning and some ticking at the end. It plays all the way through without any skips, pops or lock-up from start to finish. You would be hard pressed to find a copy of this record in this condition, especially a Bestway pressing. This would be a welcome addition to anyone's collection.
