JVC SR-V101US Super VHS VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) Digital Transfer, Issues

Description: For sale is one (1) JVC SR-V101US video cassette player/recorder. Super-VHS Professional deck for playback or recording of VHS tape. Some issues with operation described below. This unit is in good cosmetic condition for its age but has some mechanical issues and is thus listed for parts/repair. Has some visible weathering, some dust and scratches, and some indentations on the top from the rubber rack mount feet (slightly melted plastic from the rubber). Glue residue around the IR sensor (an IR flasher was previously glued to the front). Power cord is solid and good. Unit was removed from a working media rack and limited testing was done: I can confirm that it powers up, buttons on the front work as they should, transport works for changing the channel or FF/RR while playing a tape, digital readout looks normal and counter seems to work. I only tested with a commercially produced VHS tape to confirm that the unit will play, fast forward, rewind, stop, and eject normally. This deck had some issues with rewinding; it would not always rewind consistently and sometimes would eject the tape after attempting to rewind. I connected to my TV via the RCA outputs and tested for image and sound and both are working with this tape, image quality looks good and sound is normal. These are old units from a working environment so I would expect they need some calibration, tune up, possible belt adjustment, etc so buy accordingly as I can’t guarantee that those things are working beyond my limited testing described above. I expect there are further issues considering the inconsistent rewinding so plan to do some repair work on this or use it for parts. I cannot guarantee it will work for you, which is why it is being sold As-Is for Parts, sorry no returns. No remote control or manual, only the unit itself and nothing else. It will be packed safely with plenty of foam/bubble wrap to keep it safe in transit. From the old brochure for these decks: Repeat Recording & Playback Just hold down the PLAY button on the VCR or remote control for more than 5 seconds and the tape in the VCR will play back repeatedly as many times as you like. You can set the VCR to repeat playback from the beginning of the tape and continue to either the end of the tape or the end of the recording. Similarly,by holding down the REC button and the PLAY button on the remote or the REC botton on the VCR for more than 5 seconds during recording,you can set the VCR to automatically rewind the tape and repeat recording on the same tape.
