Martin Aircraft Plant in Bellevue, Nebraska, the bomber nicknamed the Enola Gay the day before this plane became the first aircraft to drop an atomic bomb, targeting the city of Hiroshima, Japan. On August 6, 1945, Capt. Theodore J. "Dutch" Van Kirk guided the bomber to Hiroshima, Japan, the target of the first atomic bomb to be used in combat. He was the last surviving member on this mission til July 2014 when he passed. The Late "Dutch" Van Kirk signed this photo for me in person in blue sharpie very nicely at a convention years ago in town at a booth he appeared at. He added his position/role on the flight and plane nickname. Photo has been stored for a number of years since convention event and is near mint, with just a couple very short indentions at top edge at wording and right of, like 1/8" and shorter.
