You're looking at an excellent overall condition book which is a classic oral history of African-Americans edited by MILTON MELTZER and Volume Three of the series "In their Own Words: A History of the American Negro" covering the years between 1916 and 1966--the book is a FIRST PRINTING and a HARDCOVER with the ORIGINAL DUSTJACKET and is NOT a remainder copy and NOT price-clipped, with the original $4.95 price in the upper corner of the front inner flap. This book is in excellent overall condition and is a former library copy with typical markings and no mylar sleeve on the dustjacket, which is not attached to the boards (the book has light sticker shadows on the upper and lower center edges of the covers where the sleeve had been attached); the book has just slight shelfwear and slight evidence of gentle browsing, and the dustjacket has tiny tears and dings on the spine tips and opening tips, a very small tear on the upper right surface of the front cover, a slight discolored spot on the lower spine tip and adjacent spots on the covers and a couple of small bleed-through spots on the upper BACK edges of the jacket not visible on the front surface and just light shelfwear otherwise but no other significant flaws! The book is titled In their Own Words: A History of the American Negro, 1916-1966 and it was edited by MILTON MELTZER; it was published by the Thomas Y. Crowell Company in 1967 and is a 1st PRINTING with a publication line reading 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10.A fantastic find, and a beautiful copy of this book!Thanks for looking, and good luck if you're bidding!
