Description: Hard to find, vintage, mid century modern Hallicrafters Model 5R14 AM radio, that is a good candidate for restoration. Radio powers up and received static only, but had a distinct odor of a burnt out capacitor, so it will need work to get it functioning. Both knobs turn smoothly and properly and the dial indicator functions properly as well. The power cord is in very good condition, still plyable. The body presents well, with no chips or cracks, but there are a few dull spots on the top - probably from cleaning at one point. While the spots will not be seen on a shelf, they can be seen from above. It is possible that the spots can be buffed out, but due to the radio not working and imperfections in the body, it is being sold "As Is" for parts or restoration.
