Description: Gorham's Lady's pattern is a multi motif pattern with the common factor of a lady's hand involved somewhere in the design. It was designed by George Wilkinson in 1865. I imagine the early pieces might have been either coin or sterling. The only pieces I've seen were made in sterling. Pieces in this pattern are quite rare. The bowl of the server may have been gold washed at one time. The spoon measures approximately 6 3/8" and weighs 30.2 grams, or 0.970 ozt. I believe the spray of olive leaves was deliberately bent so that the server would catch on the edge of the serving bowl. I have seen other pieces in this pattern with the spray of leaves similarly bent. It is monogrammed - "Sherman". The condition is excellent. Please see our other listings of fine Gorham, Tiffany, Unger Bros., plus listings of fine silver from other makers. Please contact us if you have any questions.
