Description: LONG WAVE & SHORT WAVE UV Attractive and colorful specimen of purple Fluorite crystals that fluoresce red along with Malachite, Barite etc. There are some very nice Malachite spheres in one particular vug that have acicular "spikes" covering them, they are small micro crystal and magnification is needed to see well. The Fluorite fluoresces red under long wave UV light and the Barite a white/cream color (pics 3 and 6). I am not exactly sure what is fluorescing orange/red under short wave (pics 2 and 5) but possibly Caliche or Calcite? From the Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico.
