I worked at Fender guitars in Corona for many years on the production line. I have been building guitars for almost 20 years before deciding to try and get my foot in the door at Fender Basically network and hopefully leave my mark at the Fender Custom Shop…..the echelon of the guitar world. You can Google John Cruz Raven Tele guitar and Celtic Strat too see the two guitars John and I brought to life just a month or so before the world changed. In the fall of 2017 I was able to get in (at Fender) and started on the production line as a tune tester, (while paying my dues) I made some friendships in the C.S. And eventually for 2020 Namm got the opportunity to create 2 guitars w/ John Cruz and Ron Thorn for the Namm show…..it’s an interesting story how it all happened….maybe I’ll elaborate one day on Reddit or similar platform. I ended up leaving Fender for .strandberg* guitars about 11 months ago in Aug. ‘21 I was offered a deal I couldn’t turn down and the corporate world (although I love Fender the brand) and growing up in Corona,Ca. Since the 70’s was always proud of Fender being a home town staple….it was just too stifling on creative minds…now I am going to continue to create some guitars off and on that I hope will find good homes of lovers of Fender one offs. All Fender Corona, Ca. Acquired parts I collected while at my time at Fender. Legitimately that is. Went into this piece. If you would like more pictures or info. on this let me know. This guitar is (6lbs.) swamp ash, all gold hardware w/ gold (Brian May) strings all Fender components and parts it is not from the Fender Custom shop…no certificate of Authenticity, although I can write something up if you want. There are a couple dings on it, nothing major I sanded and re-buffed and polished it, it comes with a FCS case I got from Wildwood guitars( it has a small scratch/dent on it) but it is brand new, I labeled as used but that’s because of the couple spots that aren’t perfect. It also has a Fender strap, the Fender Corona neck is painted on the headstock orange w/ black transparent on top, so sometimes it looks black and in the light you can see the orange pop through…I always like to try new things. I just started building this one day (never intended on a complete build) and over two years l think it came out pretty nice…I know I’m not describing this piece very much if you have any questions just hit me up and I’ll give you some more specs on this.
