Description: THIS IS MY OWN EBAY SITE! MY HUSBAND MIKE'S EBAY STORE IS KNOWN AS "JUNKDEAL" AND HE HAS OVER 2000 POSITIVE FEEDBACK RATINGS! WE WILL BE SURE YOU ARE IN GOOD HANDS!!! Here is a medal from Mike's antique collection for me to list!! It is a medal that seems to be of a type that would have hung from a wide ribbon around one's neck, like the Lion in the Wizard of Oz got for "Bravery"! From what Mike thinks, and from research of a limited nature, it may be from the Order of Foresters, either a Christian, or perhaps Catholic, organization. NOW, I could not find what the letters at the bottom are for sure. I saw other past listings on EBay here that list it as "DRGND", so I included that in the description. HOWEVER, Mike thinks it actually says "ORG N.D." As in some "organization" located at one time in North Dakota. TO SUPPORT HIS BELIEF, HE SAYS HE BOUGHT THIS MEDAL IN MITCHELL, SOUTH DAKOTA IN ABOUT 1997 WHEN HE WENT TO RAPID CITY ON A DEMO JOB AT THE "BLACK HILLS POWER AND LIGHT" COMPANY. The antique store he bought it at did not know much about it, BUT just because it came from that general area, he says it is a GOOD possibility it originated in the Dakotas! He bought a bunch of really cool antiques at this store, some of which he has sold off in the past! He went out there in a semi-truck with a big trailer, so he bought one really big item!! It was an actual railroad freight car coupler from the 1880s that weighed about 1700 pounds!! He actually had this thing IN THE HOUSE when I met him in 2005! My take on that was "HELL to the F'n NO!!!! So when we married, it went out to the garage!! The saying around here was, "you know you're a Redneck when you have a forklift at the house!!"
