Description: Abbott and Costello in Hollywood With Lucille Ball and Mike Mazurki in some of the boy's routines. Excerpts from the 1945 MGM feature where the boys stage a murder. Over 800', over 20 minutes mounted on a 1200' reel with can. This version is made up from an original print, similar to what Castle and Official films used to make of the Universal films. There were never any "official" digest prints made of this title, so this "hand created" short is a real rarity. Description has spoilers. The Story: The film starts with a security guard chasing after Lou Costello. Lou enters a movie set and breaks up a film Lucille Ball is performing in.Next sequence is where Lou teaches a room full of studio kids until spotted by Edgar Dearing as security again. The chase leads to a western set where Lou disguises himself as a dummy only to get beaten by Mike Muzarki. He ends up getting a role in a movie. It dissolves into a night club sequence where Lou is celebrating his "client" and him getting their movie roles. He discovers that happiness is short lived when another actor is hired (full song retained in nightclub sequence).Lou has trouble sleeping and Bud gives him a record to help him sleep. Bud and Lou have a funny bit where both use ear plugs to stop the record when it is over so as not to wake Lou by the record's ending sound. The new star of the movie punches Lou on a boat with Bud photographing the scene. Bud thinks Lou has died and when he finds that Lou is still alive, He lets the star think that Lou died. This star, thinking that he had killed Lou, runs off, leaving the film to be made with Bud and Lou. Goes to black. Hard feature to find, this short version retains some great bits.
