Ebonised Lenzkirch High Quality Antique Bell-Top Ting-Tang Bracket Clock

Description: A high quality antique 1888 Ebonised Lenzkirch Bell Top Bracket or Table Clock of Georgian style with Ting-Tang chimes. The clock is in excellent original fully working condition and has been cleaned, polished, movement oiled and springs greased. The movement is a Lenzkirch 44 with a Deadbeat Escapement which keeps very good time.The top of the case has a Bell Top with a folding brass carrying handle and is surrounded by its four original Lenzkirch solid brass finials. The dial compliments the case and has gilded brass spandrels surrounding a silvered chapter ring, which is noteworthy for the large size of the Lenzkirch markings. It is surrounded by a shaped silvered reflector which matches the door window. This window is edged with gilded brass which holds the glass. Above the aperture are three small pierced brass panels backed with deep pink silk. This colour matches the original silk, which had perished with age. The door has its original working lock. The case also has side windows enabling the movement to be viewed. The side windows have the same brass edgings as the front door window. The perforated brass of the rear door is also backed with the same deep pink silk. The movement is stamped Lenzkirch 44 with Serial Number 824823, dating it to 1888. The clock comes with its original pendulum, a winding key and front door key. Dimensions (handle folded down): Height 15 inchesWidth 9.5 inchesDepth 7.5 inches.
