'CHRONOPOLIS And Other Stories' HBDJ published by PUTNAM in NYNY for the Book Club Of America. Book is a library discard so the jacket and book are used. DJ has some closed tears, loss to edges, stubborn sticker and a patch of color loss on spine. Mild stains that show through both covers. Some wear, bumping and fade to spine. Book has some stains at upper, outer corners; no scent nor mildew. There is heavy tip to spine and last leaf still sports a library card-pocket and sticker. Book Club Edition should be stated on the lower front flap but the finish there was removed presumably when the DJ came out of the library's Mylar sleeve. Buy the lot at the full listed price and I will add a new Brodart sleeve to the DJ which dresses it up considerably. This is sort of a "Best Of..." volume containing 16 short stories including "The Terminal Beach," "The Garden Of Time," and "Manhole 69." 'THE DROWNED WORLD,' "New Edition 1966" is stated on the copyright page; a US re-edition from Berkley Medallion Books in NYNY. HEAVILY Used with one corner of front cover lost. Upper corner has stubborn sticker remnant and scarring. Fade and color loss to spine and both covers. Some reader wear, creases and tip to spine. Pages are tanned but clean. No scent nor stains. First leaf is pencil marked '$40.00;' I think it might come off with some light rubbing with the right erasor. No other marks inside or out. 'MYTHS OF THE NEAR FUTURE,' This is a novelet of Ballard's published for the first time here in October 1982 in the 33rd Anniversary Issue of The Magazine Of Fantasy And Science Fiction, a monthly publication with high standards. Magazine has book-stile binding and is in quite good condition for the age and miles. There is some stubborn address sticker remnants on the front cover. Mild reader wear and creases.
