The box itself is in excellent condition as well. This model kit from Doyusha features the iconic Neuschwanstein castle, known for its intricate design and stunning architecture. The following is the text on the model box side: "The Castle of Neuschwanstein was built by Ludwig II, the last king of Bayern, or Bavaria in English, of Germany, spending long 17 years and huge amount of money. Succeeding to the throne when he was only 19 years old, Ludwig II was a romanticist who dreamed to carry out his state affairs ideally. However, in between his ideal and the reality, his administration committed a number of errors with forced him to an awkward position. In his attempt to escape from the agony, he set his mind to build a beautiful castle in the mountain of Bavarian Alps. Though he was such a handsome man as to be adored by all women of his country, he annulled the engagement with a princess of a noble family of Germany and remained bachelor all his life. He respected musician Wagner like his true elder brother. He called him the Muchen and became his patron for some time. However, absorbed himself in the building of the castle and neglected the administration of his country, he was dethroned under the name of lunatic after only 102 day residence in his castle. He was placed under detention but two days later, he was found dead drowned in the Stamberger Sea near Muchen with a court physician. How he came to his death is not known yet today. Once you step inside the castle, you will find many rooms decorated with murals of scenes from operas such as Tanhauser and Lohengrin. Some chandeliers use as many as 600 candles to light one of them and rooms are decorated with Gobelin tapestries. There is a room which has a stage for performance of operas but the spectator was the King himself alone. Then a dining room in which the King took dinner by himself, shunning all others. A chapel was also for himself alone. All settings of the castle richly difuse the King's character who loved solitude. On the cloister, you can command quiet view of an ancient castle at a distance between two small lakes with Alpine mountains on the background."
