The '100 Superstar' sets, issued 1989-1992, were originally distributed in a set blister pack along with a full color booklet. Two separate sets were released each year. One was basically veterans and the other contained young players/rookies. The 1989 sets were called Hottest 100 Stars and Hottest 100 Rookies. The 1990 to 1992 sets were called 100 Superstars and 100 Rising Stars. Generally, these were released in retail stores and book outlets rather than through card dealers.
