Description: Counterpoint SA-5 Preamplifier Tube Preamplifier: The line stage of this preamplifier was tested just before listing. The sound is very transparent and detailed with a focused sound stage. The RIAA turntable inputs have the provision to load match phono cartridges and the manual provides significant details on how to facilitate this. The turntable and tape loop inputs/outputs were not tested. It ships in the original box with packaging. A copy of the owner’s manual includes a set of service documents with preamplifier stage schematics. This item was in storage after the original owner passed. I’m selling it for the owners son. There’s some cosmetic wear as in the pictures, but in general it’s in VG working condition. From the manual: Fully vacuum tube regulated high-voltage supply for natural timbre and inner detail. Regulated filament voltage for long tube life and consistent sonic performance. All rectification and filtering provided in a separate DC power supply assuring elimination of hum and hum side bands. Two-color LED indicates when unit is fully warmed up. A grounding switch allows main chassis to operate in either grounded or floating configuration.
