Colonial Williamsburg Brass Candle Holder Sconce Virginia Metalcrafters AS IS

Description: Due to the increase in volume of packages being shipped through the US Postal System, shipping times have occasionally been longer than those estimated by either eBay or the USPS tracking tool. Vintage COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG RESTORATION brasscandle holder / chamberstick / sconcemade by Virginia Metalcrafters.This bears both the CW4XX and the VM marks as shown in photo #8, between the two copper rivets thatattach the upright section to the base. This has a height of just over 6.25", a width of about 7", and is just over 5.25" deep. This has been used - and has some tarnish and dark spots onthe surface of the brass from age and use.The tubular part that holds the candle is just over 2" talland was originally held to the base by three small triangular"prongs". One of these prongs has broken off over the years.This part of the candleholder (base with the prongs), is shown in photo #9.The two remaining prongs still hold the tubular portion to the base butthe tubular portion had some slight movement to it if jostledor grabbed forcibly. To remedy this, we placed a thin clear plastic "shim" under theremaining two prongs to better stabilize the tubular portion.This is shown in close-up in photo #10.Because it is clear and colorless, it is hard to see in the photo(and in person).This shim allows the candleholder to function and "feel" like itdid before the one prong broke off.I will be including the most recent plastic shim with the candleholder. I have priced this piece with consideration to the broken prong. Item must be returned in original condition with all original packing materials.
