Chant This engraving / mezzotint & line engraving is on strong copper printing paper, 1856.The sheet has a narrow margin around the plate edge. Height: 23 3/4 : 27 1/2 inches Width: 17 3/4 : 21 1/2 inches It is slightly stained (foxing) around the edges. It is in very nice, unrestored condition.The lower right corner is missing. It does not affect the print itself and is not visible when framed and matted. Robert Burns (1759 Alloway, Ayrshire - 1796 Dumfries, Dumfriesshire) was a Scottish writer and poet. Most important Scottish writer alongside Walter Scott. He wrote numerous poems, political texts and songs.His most famous song is "Auld Lang Syne" as part of the British tradition. Highland Maryis a song composed in 1792 by Scottish poet RobertBurns. It is one of three works dedicated to Mary Campbell, with whomBurnswas in love in the 1780s.
