Description: Here is a Large Bing & Grondahl (B&G) Blue Traditional (Blamalet) UFO Teapot w Lid. This is a very rare and special piece. This UFO-shaped teapot was later given number 177. It is factory first quality, made in Denmark in the period 1915-47. The teapot is in excellent condition. The teapot is large with a wonderful shape and design. It measures approximately 11 1/2 inches from handle to spout, and ~4.5 inches tall, including its lid. The pot holds about 1 liter. The shape was designed by Harriet Bing and bears B&G's popular blue traditional/blue fluted pattern motifs. There are lovely and playful sea elements built into the teapot shape including seahorses on the handle and lid, and a shell-like design at base of the spot. The tea pot and its lid are in excellent condition. There are no apparent damages, no chips or cracks or repairs. There is little evidence of use/wear. The pot has some normal, discrete glaze irregularities/firing marks from factory production. Note: The lid does not sit flush with the pot in places. This is a spectacular and rare piece that deserves its place in any B&G / blue and white collection! Please examine all the photos and reach out with any questions!
